Two - Uptown and away...

So ok, I went uptown 66th st Lincon center to the 52nd NY film festival. Its older than me and this year it has been running since  september26 and stops at the oktober 14. After the show I took the A & L train home with a smile on my face and watched Paul Austers (yeah I know NY is taking me over), Lulu on the bridge with Harvey Keitel, it was not very good. The text above I just wrote to keep you waiting for the big canon. It's a big canon in my world of heroes, and getting the chance to capture them in a portrait kind of way. I have now met and captured four of my bigest influences. Lydia Lunch, Thurston Moore, and now on this trip uptown manhattan I can add filmmaker Jim Jarmusch and photographer David Godlis. Maybe it's not that strange, they are after all living here. But I'm not, and two weeks goes fast. David Godlis have taken maybe the best photos and manage to capture the essence of CBGB'S and the rock scen in new york in the mid seventies. I'm a backer at Kickstarter of a photo book on that period that Mr Godlis, now, be course of me and hundreds of others, can go through with and publish, and will see it's light in Januari!!! I plan to use Kickstarter too one day. I will not talk about Jim Jarmusch, you'll have to google him. David Godlis was, ironically, the first one I gave my card to. A card created by Helena & Morgan(Thanks!) and be course of my stupidity cost my a fortune, The end. But now, it was worth it. Oh you may wonder about the film I saw, in which a young Jim Jarmusch took care of the one lonely mic on a stick. I'll keep it short. The film is a documentary on William Burroughs and it's called William Burroughs - The movie (like abba but very very different) by Howard Brookner, it was fabulous! It had it's premier in 83 and have now been digitalised. A must see if it comes to Sweden. It made me wanna buy and read all his books. I can admit just reading one...       Klart slut - Over and out.
